ARTIST MESSAGE
Photography has played such an exciting roll in our lives. We really can't put into words the amount of energy we put forth in the pursuit of creativity. Along the way, we've met and worked with so many amazing people and are thankful for so many of the relationships and friendships that have formed. We've earned some cool awards along the way, which has been nice. But, we don't define our career based around these things.
It has been an interesting journey to say the least. We started our careers photographing weddings, and as our clients grew their families and careers, we grew alongside them. Everyone knows that word of mouth and referrals are the best way to grow, and we've managed to build our careers on that alone. We've worked hard to build trust, and that is what we can attribute most of our success to. That, along with a strong passion for photography and a great sense of style that allows us to share the world from original and often unexpected perspectives.
Jennifer and I have both grown up surrounded by photography and the arts, and the pursuit of creativity has always been what drives us. A lot has changed in regards to what it means to be a photographer. But one thing hasn't changed, and that is that our mission is to tell great visual stories. There is no doubt that we are definitely Renaissance Artists in that we have a vision beyond the camera. Which is great, because as our world transitioned from camera and darkroom to camera and computer, we've been able to embrace and in many cases help lead the industry towards a more in depth thought process about what photography means and is today.
For us it isn't just about the imagery alone, but also about how it is presented and experienced. This is where photography merges with design, and we are able to provide clients with creative ways to enjoy photography and make it a part of their lifestyle. Hiring a photographer today isn't just about the photographs, rather it's about how people experience photographs and the moments of their life.
Photography can be both a personal experience, and one that is meant for sharing with friends, loved ones, and the world if you wish to. And today, there are incredible ways to experience and share camera based art. Progress in the photography world isn't going to slow anytime soon. High Resolution Digital Motion Picture is upon us, and photography is changing right before our eyes with a momentum that can't be stopped. Finally, digital motion picture looks as gorgeous as a still photography, and can be enjoyed on the big screen, at home, on tablets, and smart phones. Photography and motion picture are converging with computers, and that is exciting for artists who embrace design as well.
Oddly, in this high tech world of cameras and computers, we are a family business, which I think is pretty unique. It helps to make the work we do have meaning for both ourselves and our clients, and makes the experience we both have more personal instead of all business. If we take a moment and look back at all that we have accomplished it most certainly surprises us. But, we are here in the now and focusing on what is happening today while we dream of what is possible tomorrow. We are making the most of this creative ride, and are just psyched to get to work with people who enjoy the creative process with us.
If your a photographer visiting the blog, fantastic. Your among friends here. If you are a client or potential client, we hope you will inquire. We love meeting new people and sharing the incredible possibilities. You are among dreamers here who would be excited to learn about your story and capture a place and time in your life that is meaningful.
Best Wishes,
Charles and Jennifer Maring
