Something's Come Over Me | Canon 1D Mark IV Film
Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 1:31PM When we got two 1D Mark IV's in our hands, we felt compelled to create several short films. Some were run and gun, some were scripted, and this one was somewhere in between. We photographed Joni and Ken's wedding recently, and they were such a fun couple to work with that we thought they would be perfect to do a quirky and fun film with. We pitch them the idea and we met in the middle with ideas. Jennifer pretty much took the reigns on this one putting together the props and sketching out the short. Joni and Ken had no idea what they were to do, but they dress the part perfectly and we directed the short one fall afternoon on the green in New Haven, Connecticut. It reminds us of a modern day Charlie Chaplin film. Funny, cute, fun with a romantic twist.
We shot most of the footage in 24p, but also shot 60p with the 1D Mark IV attached to a Glidecam for the smooth footage you see of the couple walking through the park. We conformed the 60p footage to 24p giving a wonderful slow motion effect. Lenses used were a 70-200 2.8 with a 1.4 times extender, an 85 1.2, and a 24 1.4. I have to say, the Canon 1D Mark IV ROCKS! Enjoy..
