Maring in PDN's First Wedding Edition

We've been featured in the commercial edition of PDN several times and are excited to be featured in the new wedding issue as well on the topic that is the hottest industry trend right now. FUSION. Our blog has a lot of posts about video, and it isn't because that is our only mission. Humbly, we can say that we've spent two decades mastering the still image. We have won the most prestigious awards the industry has to offer. We've photographed the most lavish wedding in history, The Wedding of the Century. I think by now we don't have a whole lot to prove to ourselves when it comes to still photography because we dedicated our entire life to learning lighting, composition, posing, and personal interaction with subjects.

Ten years ago... PRE-DIGITAL, if you will, the industry was quite simply a lifelong challenge. With the digital age at hand anyone can get a good image. And, unfortunately the honest truth is that the general public doesn't know the difference between good and world class. As a master photographer, we know the difference and it is plain as day because we can pick out the problems in a print and what the artist did wrong.

Of course there are discerning clients with gifted eyes that can see, but it takes an artistic person to be able to discern the difference. That is why so many of our clients are artists themselves. Some are in the film industry, some are painters, or musicians, advertising agents, magazine editors, etc... And, some just want the best.

But the question remains, why offer motion picture? For our team, it is for the challenge. As artists, we don't want to just continue to do the same thing over an over. We want to create and do things that have never been done before. We want to dream beyond the still image. Don't get me wrong, our life's work is in the still, but we make a living with a camera. So, to us it makes sense to use this camera to its full storytelling potential. So, our intention is to use the skill set we have in lighting, composition, and communication to bring motion pictures to the table that are more powerful than traditional wedding videos. I think as photographers that have mastered the still image, we owe it to ourselves and the world to keep pushing the creative envelope.
