GlideTrack Shooter

I wanted to share a heads up on a new found product that we recently purchased that is really going to add so cool new shots into our workflow from the cinema perspective. What you see me using in the images above is a new product called the GlideTrack Shooter. It's a pretty ingenious piece of equipment especially for those of us to photograph weddings and events because it is small, only 1.5 feet long, and very lightweight.
There are several different models made by GlidTrack. Some are longer, others are short in length and there are variations for different size and camera weights to consider. The two base plates can sit on a floor or flat table, or if you need to get the track higher up, simply mount it onto a tripod by screwing it on. For extra stability you can mount on two tripods connected to the black baseplates as well.
This allows us to capture smooth pans of subjects, or to pre-focus on a subject, draw the head back and slowly move the camera towards the subject thus bringing it into focus. The other unique side of the GlideTrack Shooter version is that you can lock the baseplate, lift it up, and it doubles as a shoulder mount for HDDSLR cameras. An extra handle comes with the system that fits in the middle to hold on to and there is a pad under the system so that it is easy on the shoulders.
Just thought I would share another great find for those photographers that are looking to use the HD motion picture capabilities of the cameras.
Happy Filming.. Charles
